The Microsoft Rewards loyalty program is a great way for many console and PC users to enjoy the Xbox Store at a lower cost. Nothing can be worse than having your account blocked because it is permanent and there are few funds, especially when nothing justifies it. Unfortunately, that’s what many players around the world experienced this week. Rest assured, the program officials are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it.
This service has a foothold throughout the Xbox ecosystem, allowing you to earn points via punch cards, Game Pass quests, or Bing searches, for example, which you can then spend as you please. Rules frame everything, of course, and offenders see their accounts banned. Problem, for the past few days the Microsoft algorithms responsible for detecting unusual and fraudulent activity on accounts seem to be overzealous and ban a number of users for no reason.
Worse, affected players who contacted Rewards Support to seek a solution very often only received a curt response: “You broke the rules, end of s tory”. And this without concrete indications of a violation of the law being able to be proven. This morning, Daniel Martins

Dear Microsoft Rewards Members,
We are aware that several members are experiencing a technical issue and some accounts have been accidentally locked when trying to redeem.
Our team is actively working on a solution, thank you for your patience.
While many users do report that the suspension was declared during a points exchange in the rewards store, others experienced the unpleasant surprise of having their accounts suspended with no reason or action on their part. In any case, Daniel Martins urges anyone affected by this error to open up a ticket to this address. As a reminder, suspending your Rewards account will not affect your Microsoft account (gamertag, achievements, digital properties, etc.) but will prohibit you from continuing to earn points and even using points already earned. Hopefully any injured players will be compensated promptly and appropriately.
