The Xbox 360 Marketplace will continue to be available and Microsoft has no plans to shut it down (for now).
After a few days of unknowns following Microsoft’s posting of a message on its website announcing the closure of the Xbox 360 bazaar in May 2023, today we finally got to see some light.
Social media has been a powder keg for this problem and there are still a lot of gamers out there who love to play Xbox 360, and despite being a console two generations ago, it has to its credit a large catalog of very interesting games.
It is true that Microsoft will retire up to 50 Xbox 360 games starting February 7 in the digital store, but this will not mean the final farewell of the Xbox 360 bazaar, it will mean the possibility of digitally acquiring games as TOP as Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey
Therefore, if you are interested in any of these games, you have time until this date.
Xbox Global Marketing Director Bree Adams spoke to digital media The edge
Adams said the following:This message was posted in error and we can confirm that the Xbox 360 Marketplace will not close in May 2023. As a reminder, starting February 7, 2023, a limited set of games, add-ons and in-game content will not be is no longer available. purchase in select markets through the Xbox 360 Store.”
Microsoft probably intentionally posted the message hoping to see the reaction of the players to finally make a firm decision or back down, the latter being the option chosen by the company.
