Microsoft to defend Activision Blizzard acquisition in EU on February 21

acquisition, Activision, Blizzard, defend, February, Microsoft

After going through a long process of investigation by the European Commission, Microsoft should directly defend its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. This will take place at a closed hearing scheduled for next week, specifically February 21.

According Yahoo! FinanceMicrosoft requested the hearing after the European Commission published objections to the possible anti-competitive results of this acquisition.

The European Commission isn’t the only governing body investigating Microsoft’s deal with Activision Blizzard. A multitude of organizations from all parts of the world expressed their positions. The UK Competition and Markets Authority is also one of the companies causing the most problems. However, analysts believe the CMA’s latest report could be a sign that the governing body does not have a legal case that tips the scales in its direction.

If the acquisition fails, recent rumors have indicated that Activision Blizzard’s current CEO, Robert Kotick, will remain with the company in his current position. But, most likely, he would leave the position if the acquisition went well.

On February 21 you can mark a before and after in the process and in the Xbox area we will be there to tell you about it.
