Minabo is not only a very funny name for a video game, it is also the most recent title of diabolical games. This workshop India The Spanish left us in the days of jewelry like “Path to Mnemosyne” or “Orinike”. However, this time they have moved on to the life simulation genre. Minabo is their big bet, something they’ve been doing for a long time. Will he be up to it? Let’s check it out in this analysis. Minabo is available for PC, nintendo switch and the ecosystems of PlayStation there Xbox.
Minabo has a lot of fun to offer
Minabo, the game that has been on everyone’s lips, presents itself as a life simulator. In the TWe will play the role of a small turnip that will grow as our desires. You can name it whatever you want and, little by little, to live his life until the moment of his death. Your life begins when you step out of the ground, time passes with every step you take, and you decide how fast you walk at any time. The game consists of two main modes: Mission mode and Free Roam.
Mission mode, as the name suggests, consists of a large number of missions that we must complete as we live and grow. Missions range from making friends, having offspring, adopting a pet, or living a specific number of years. Mission mode might not seem like much, but it’s a very challenging and entertaining mode. Completing 5 missions will unlock free mode. Free mode allows us to simply live our lives. No restrictions, as we want. And how many times we want. Minabo is ready for big challenges and also to play with it calmly.
Interaction in Minabo: Original, but repetitive
for minabo relationships are everything. IThe gameplay is centered on four buttons, which will determine how our turnip will interact with others. Three of them will consist of asking for Physical Contact, a conversation to gain Intimacy or a gesture to reinforce the feeling of Belonging. All of them will act as progress bars that will empty over time, and that we will have to fill in order to live better and longer. Actually, How we manage these three statistics will mark the future of our turnip and its possibilities of becoming intimate in the future. Depending on how we interact, we will become responsible and generous adults or self-aware teenagers, for example.
The fourth button, on the other hand, will allow us to move forward, physically and temporarily. However, there is a big but with this. Except for a small mini-game of “Rock, Paper, Scissors” when we encounter NPCs with hats and the variety of missions, the truth is that we will do the same throughout the game. As for gameplay it comes rather limited, Minabo. A lot of effort, but a greater variety of actions would have been appreciated.
Minabo says physical contact is necessary to have a mate and offspring. Each interaction will have a probability of success or failure, which will be shown to us with a circular graph in red and green. If we encounter many consecutive interactions with other turnips that are not related to us, we will form bonds. Friends, best friends and, finally we will activate a small event in which we will have to walk in unison and end up being a couple. This event is activated with the “Physical Contact” command, which will be needed to have offspring once the romance is closer. The children, yes, will already come with an assigned name, we cannot decide. Ultimately, Minabo aims to grow and create offspring.
But the hat is new!
Minabo is very pretty to look at. The artistic section, using 2D illustrations with that watercolor touch of a children’s story, is very practical. At the same time, the HUD visually looks very stylish and does not clash aesthetically at all. One of the best things about the game, without a doubt. The sound section is rather limited, but the main song accompanies as it plays.
Although what caught our attention the most about Minabo is that it also gets stylish for the occasion. There is something that will make each of our games different, our hat. There will be a wide variety of them, which we will gain as we play and which will allow us unexpected customization. By playing we will end up imitating Mr. Smithers in The Simpsons and saying his mythical phrase: “But the hat is new!”.
Anyway, Minabo…
Eventually, Minabo is bigger than it looks. Although, yes, once you give it a few tastes, you can get an idea of what it has to offer. It’s a fun and very social experience, but also somewhat repetitive over time. But yes, the hat is new.
Normally we usually give an approximate duration, but in the case of Minabo it depends on who is testing it. It can last a few minutes or be infinite, because its replayability is worth mentioning. Finally and as always, if you want to know more about games and news, we are waiting for you here, at Xbox area.
Thanks to Devilish Games and Selecta Play for the key and Tina for her help in choosing the names of the turnips in this review.
