We recently informed you that some of the members of the beta program of Minecraft had managed to get the ray tracing feature to work on their Xbox series. While this appeared to herald the upcoming launch of the feature, Mojang Studios announced on its Twitter account that it was lowering expectations
The previous Minecraft preview build available to Xbox Insiders accidentally included prototype code for ray tracing support on Xbox consoles. This early prototype code has been removed from preview and does not signal any plans in the near future to bring ray tracing support to consoles.

It is specifically noted that the affected code was a prototype accidentally included in the build previously distributed to Xbox Insider members. The teams would like to point this out that doesn’t bode well for the feature’s arrival on consoles at all
Cold shower for those who have been waiting to be able to enjoy these light effects on Xbox. Despite this, the developers are not even closing the door on a future implementation if it doesn’t work right away. The soap opera continues!
