The creators of Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps believe they have the project they desire in their hands, a gem on which they will work for many years. Thomas Mahler, CEO of Moon Studios, who usually doesn’t mince his words, He spoke from his X account (Twitter)on the future of No Rest for the Wicked, its new title recently released on Steam in Early Access, but which has already managed to sell a million copies, no more and no less.
And this has really been a response, as many users believe that when the game reaches its launch version, 1.0, Moon Studios will stop supporting it and move on. Well, it won’t be like that at all, because For Mahler, this version 1.0 will be like a kind of “Community of the Ring”.the beginning of a path, of a trilogy that will last for years.
Its intention was to offer something revolutionary in the field of ARPGs
Additionally, this first Early Access experiment is only considered a sort of image test, if we compare it with the content already prepared behind version 1.0 and later:
This early access phase is just the beginning for us and we already have plans for post-version 1.0.
No Rest for the Wicked is like our Lord of the Rings. And to continue this analogy, what we have done so far amounts to doing a “selection test” of the first fragments. 1.0 will be our “Ring Community”. And as you all know, there will be much more.
To be clear: we will continue to work on No Rest for the Wicked for another 5-10 years.
This is our Magnum Opus. We’ve always had big ambitions and said we were going to make a huge contribution to the RPG genre, and that’s our intention.
If you haven’t tried it, this new game will certainly surprise everyone, being truly innovative at the level of artistic design, combined with a combat system similar to what we call “souls-like”, but with its own new rules.
