Moons from Game Pass: Deliver Us The Moon

Deliver, game, Moon, Moons, Pass

This Monday of Game Pass we bring you a very special title. An adventure that despite its indie label, It was a unique and fun experience. Those who have tried it will know what I’m talking about, and it’s Deliver us the moon It’s the closest thing to experiencing our own “Space Odyssey”. Leaving aside the “psychedelic” touch of Kubrick’s film, the sensations this game conveys at all times are very similar.

The success of Keoken Interactive has been such that Wired productions even dared to launch a complete collector’s edition. And we already know that when a title of these characteristics comes out in a physical edition, it is not by chance. Luckily for Xbox users, the space adventure of Deliver us the moon also reached the Game Pass, just gain popularity. Let’s see it in detail, a new Monday of Game Pass is taking off.

The importance of the frame

One of the main reasons to play this title is for its setting and the sensations it offers. It is, as I said before, the “odyssey” space that many of us have come to expect in video games. And it is that all the details in this sense, are extremely well polished.

For many, as happened to me, the 2001 film: A Space Odyssey will come to mind. There are scenes in the film that convey a certain fear, and others simply reflect the absolute loneliness of the space. Throw away, Deliver us the moon he does it very well.

Only the sound of our breathing or the interaction with certain structures of the space station, break the sepulchral silence that bathes the stars. This is what we will find practically on our entire trip, but I have to admit that if the playing itself is a marvel, its first bars are a masterpiece. Because the adventure does not start on the moon, no we will have to launch our rocket ourselves.

Takeoff and the first few moments on the space station are great, but of course, also comes this time to venture on the moon. Moving on its surface is also a pleasant experience, with the risks that this entails. Loneliness has never been so good nor the terror of space so realistic and well represented.

A single mission; “Deliver us the moon”

If references to Kubrick can already be found, we also cannot ignore some similarities with Interstellar in its story arc. Deliver us the moon It is an exciting journey but also risky, with no safe return. It’s worth it? the fate of the earth therefore seems to confirm it. Our journey begins precisely on earth, and with the blue planet less blue than ever.

In this dystopian future, our overexploited planet survives on new fuel found on the moon. With a base installed there, the mega-structures are enjoying every last useful drop from our nearest satellite. However, an unexpected failure (oh surprise) will force us to start a dangerous mission with the aim of restoring the functioning of the facilities on the moon.

Throughout its gameplay, the plot is intelligently told, with elements here and there that give us details about the characters. There are many documents as you would expect, but also we will meet holographic scenes in the middle of a desolate facility. This is where we will find the most relevant information, with breathtaking moments this happened before our arrival. Several complications will also present themselves to fulfill our task, but which you will have to find out for yourself.

Simple gameplay that gives a lot of play

Being a title of these characteristics and with a rather modest production, it would not be surprising if it limped in its playable section. What is certain is that, without being an extremely ambitious game, it manages to accompany the decor very well from this point of view. Perhaps the worst part is the manipulation of the protagonist when we go to play in the third person. You get used to it, but it can be uncomfortable at first.

Beyond that, the elements with which to interact are well implemented, and we will find puzzles that, without being too complex, always contribute and make sense. Some even, go test our nerves with countdowns or some other unexpected danger. On the other hand, we will have a spherical robot as a faithful companion, which will remind more than one of our dear Jack of Gears 5.

Like Jack, he has a multitude of functions, so its “multitasking” character will be great for us to complete puzzles or make our way easier. But without a doubt, one of the funniest parts is when you have to move around the lunar surface. We can do it on foot, yes, but due to the inconvenience you will experience yourself, it will be better to do it in the all-terrain vehicle that you see in the picture. And it is very pleasant.

The fate of the earth depends on you

Are you one of those people who will dare to travel to the moon? I did it back then, and if you’re as much of a fan of these songs as I am, I can assure you that the trip will be unforgettable. The plot is clever and that is well said Despite the cliché, with a very dignified ending in my opinion.

However, beyond its history, the best thing about this game are the feelings it manages to convey all the time. After a “stellar” start (pun intended), the game can go through less exciting phases in the lunar station. Even so, being alone, finding out everything that happened and having to overcome the adversities of space, make it a unique game.

Now it’s your turn to save the planet, are you ready to take the plunge? If you liked this game or others from our section, stay tuned on our website or our app for future Xbox Game Pass recommendations.
