The Microsoft machinery and its strategy with Xbox does not stop despite the latest setback with the suspension of the CMA of the contract to buy Activision. So much so that the Phil Spencer-led team continues to sign deals to bring their and Activision’s games to other services in the event the purchase closes.
But beyond that, Redmond’s strategy is to bring us the highest quality exclusives possible. On the horizon are Redfall, which will be released in two days, Starfield, with a September release date, and Forza Motorsport, which does not yet have a release date. However, Xbox’s proprietary portfolio is broader and holds many surprises.
Nadella Confirms Xbox Has Surpassed 500 Million Unique Users
Something that excites Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, who in a recent meeting with shareholders and investors confirmed that in Redmond they have a “grand illusion” for the first group that hasn’t arrived yet.
We are quickly realizing our ambition to be the first choice for people who want to play great video games when, how and where they want. We set a third quarter record for active users and devices. Across all of our content and service businesses, we’re delivering on our commitment to give gamers more ways to access the games they love.
Great content continues to drive our growth. With our titles, we just passed the 500 million unique user mark since we launched our lineup of upcoming games, including titles coming this quarter like Minecraft Legends and Redfall.
With these statements, we can think that in the rest of 2023, Microsoft and Xbox could still have more than one surprise prepared for gamers. Will we know all the plans for the Xbox Game Showcase in June?
