Ed Boon, the charismatic leader of NetherRealm Studios has revealed that ahead of The Game Awards, the development studio’s next game, which many believe to be nothing more and nothing less than Mortal Kombat 12, that the game won’t be shown at of the event, something that had happened with its predecessor.
While that didn’t leave fans of the iconic bloodthirsty title saga very happy, some comments from the past few hours may offset that unease.
NetherRealm Studios is preparing bombs
I really shouldn’t answer that.

Through his twitter account, Boon answered some questions from fans. One asked if the new studio would be announced within the next six months, to which the creative replied, “maybe.” In another tweet, with a funny pun, he also hinted that the game will arrive in 2023 and it will be the game with the most post-launch support. A brutality considering all the updates received by Mortal Kombat 11.
There’s still a chance the devs will surprise everyone by showing off an Injustice 3, which wouldn’t be bad, but there are several rumors that Mortal Kombat 12 is coming before the title DC characters. We will see what news we have in the next 6 months, although anxiety may play a trick on us.
