With Mountain of Flame, players can expect a red-hot adventure in Neverwinter.
Arc Games and Cryptic Studios have announced that Mountain of Flame, Neverwinter’s new expansion, will be released on July 16 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
This major update to the free-to-play D&D MMORPG will bring back the Mount Hotenow adventure zone, originally introduced at the launch of Neverwinter in 2013.
Adventurers will discover the completely redesigned zone. Mountain of Flame also offers an improved version of the Raging Dragon Lair and various quality of life improvements.
In the Mountain of Flame expansion, the smoking volcano Mount Hotenow is rumbling again and threatening to erupt.
Gommoth, a powerful fire giant who lives deep within the mountain, plans to use the magma to awaken a Primordial that lies dormant within the volcano. Adventurers must band together and fight Gommoth and his forces before the Primordial destroys the entire Sword Coast.
Heroes who embark on this red-hot adventure can expect a variety of new content in Neverwinter:
- Reintroduced Adventure Zone – Mount Hotenow
- Players will be able to venture into Mount Hotenow again when this adventure zone returns to Neverwinter with a revamped version and new monsters! In addition to dangerous lava flows and ash geysers, Gommoth’s elemental forces now roam Mount Hotenow. Adventurers will encounter fire archons, mad cultists, and other fire-based enemies.
- Reintroduced Vault – Lair of the Raging Dragon
- Led by the prophet Rohini, the Ashmadai cultists have overrun Helm’s Hold to claim the Hex Locus, an artifact with the power to penetrate the fabric of realities and twist the nature of creatures. Rohini manipulated the mind of the green dragon Chartilifax to protect the Hex Locus, making him believe he was a green elf and servant of Rohini. Chartilifax now guards the Hex Locus and devours anyone who comes near the artifact.
- New Battle Pass
-
- As adventurers venture into the fiery depths of Mount Hotenow, a new Battle Pass will provide them with support.
- By completing the challenges in the Battle Pass’ premium path, they can obtain the companion Eric the Cavalier, based on the character of the same name from the TV cartoon Dungeons & Dragons (1983).
