One of the most popular and award-winning IPs from Zenimax and Bethesda is, without a doubt, Doom. The saga, now in the hands of iD Software, has always been a benchmark for frenetic action in first-person shooters. Since the launch of Eternal Doom, we have been waiting for the announcement of a new opus.
A wait that could end sooner than we think, since the return of Doom Guy is about to arrive.
Zenimax marks the old original Doom code
A few weeks ago, with the files of the lawsuit against the FTC for the acquisition of Activision, we learned that iD Software had already planned a new opus for the saga, but that it had not ultimately seen the light of day. Today, already in January 2024, we come know the registration of the IDFKA brand from Zenimax and Microsoft (which now owns the rights to the game).
You’re probably wondering what these acronyms or letters have to do with the Doom saga and the connection is very obvious: This is one of the original tricks of the franchise which allowed us to obtain infinite ammunition and access all the keys and weapons in the game. This term has been used over the years to create atmospheres, hence the importance of saving the code.
In addition, it is a somewhat special disc, notably because of the tempo, since it was recorded on January 9, the day of the announcement of the new Developer Direct. For some time now we have been hearing about the development of a new game in the saga that closes the titles released in recent times. Could this be the surprise game of Developer Direct 2024 on January 18, 2024?
