There will be new equipment, roster features and rating calculations for Madden NFL 22.
EA has news of some new gear, as well as roster and ratings, right before the Madden NFL 22 release to continue the authenticity of the franchise.
equipment
The mouthpieces that are often requested will be available with the new title update. All primary and secondary team colors in all modes are supported, for both NFL players and created characters. This applies to both current-gen and last-gen consoles.
Another popular feature of Madden NFL 22 is the fully functional sock height adjustment, including all striped socks. That means no matter how an NFL player chooses to wear their socks, they are customizable: standard, low, or high.
New color variants of the bracelet are also added, offering both short and long variants for different styles in the length of the band. New tinted and dark Oakley visor variations have also been added as options to customize the look of the helmet.

Player appearance
The similarity of players and coaches is extremely important for players. Scanning the faces takes a lot of time and requires the developers to get to know the athletes personally. Due to the limited opportunities for face-to-face meetings, the traditional number of scans could not be carried out this year. There will be more head scans with a few title updates over the course of the season. Here is a list of some of the athletes who will be part of the launch of Madden NFL 22:
- Trevor Lawrence
-
Kyle Pitts

The opposing library has also been improved. Over 100 new generic faces have been added that will be available as player creation options. Visual improvements have also been made to existing scans to carry them over to the latest generation of consoles.
Rosters
Some adjustments have been made to the Rosters to make the franchise mode more dynamic and better accommodate aging superstars and promising young players. Developers have begun removing the “Star +” trait of many older veterans who have reached or exceeded their full potential in their careers.
Some changes will also be made to the OVR formula. The outside linebacker group has been modified to bring them closer to the middle linebackers, which will improve the overlap of ratings when a player changes position to support certain defensive schemes and fixtures. This change prevents significant OVR shifts when changing positions and keeps players within the same range of LB positions. Ball Carrier Vision has also been added to the Scrambling QB archetype to better characterize a very important skill for this type of player.
reviews
There’s also some news on the use of NFL Next Gen Stats in the rating process.
During the Madden NFL 21 season, it began using the average of the top five speeds recorded by each player via Next Gen Stats to provide a better speed rating score. By using real-world data from the NFL and taking into account weekly and yearly player performance, a more accurate representation of player speed on the Madden Gridiron is provided.
In addition to the speed data, it was very important for the team to consider the recorded 40 yard transit times and look at recordings to see how it affected the game speed. To sum up, the Next Gen Stats data is matched and the numbers are combined with actual game material to improve the speed and acceleration metrics creation process for Madden NFL 22.
The NFL Next Gen Stats are an important part of the development of the game in terms of player performance, and this data will continue to be incorporated into the evaluation processes in the future.
Madden NFL 22 will be available for August 20, 2021 Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC released.
