NBA 2K25 brings the city to life with new features for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
2K unveils updates to the city in NBA 2K25, coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and for the first time on PC. Based on player feedback, NBA 2K25 welcomes fans with a new and revamped interactive city designed to feel more intimate and connected.
Plus, there’s a competitive headquarters on the Boulevard of Stars, a larger-than-life arena for Proving Grounds, the return of MyCOURT, the iconic 2K15 MyPARKs, and much more.
“The city has been redesigned for NBA 2K25 with a focus on community feedback. We’ve built an entirely new city that is far more intimate and accessible, bringing back nostalgic, fan-favorite experiences and offering new ways to compete at any skill level. The city in NBA 2K25 is more focused on basketball and a faster entry point that allows players to seamlessly connect and compete,” said Erick Boenish, VP of NBA Development at Visual Concepts.
The city is offering a variety of improvements this year, including:
- A completely new, interactive city: NBA 2K25 features a brand new, vibrant city that puts basketball at the center. The new map is more compact and empty spaces have been eliminated so that every building has a purpose. The city is designed to feel more dynamic and intimate. The focal point of the city is the Boulevard of Stars, an elevated street with easy access to all game modes including the refreshed Pro-AM, The REC and Ante-Up. The street features a Walk of Fame that showcases all NBA Championship teams and also offers empty spaces for the future. As players win championships in MyCAREER, their dynasty is immortalized alongside NBA history.
- My DISH: In response to calls from the community, NBA 2K25 brings back MyCOURT. The apartment-basketball court mix in the center of the city is players’ private hub where they can train and experiment, and serves as a central hub for NBA 2K25’s basketball-focused MyCAREER mode. Players can hone their skills, train alone or with friends and MyCAREER teammates, and compete in 1v1, 3v3, HORSE, and more. Players can personalize their MyCOURT with new murals earned through quests and seasonal rewards.
- Test site: Proving Grounds is the new home for competitive heights in the city. The Colosseum-inspired arena is the place for ranked play in intense 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 5v5 matches, with competitive difficulty and shot meters disabled. Proving Grounds highlights the best NBA 2K25 players through leaderboards that update daily to show who is at the top of each game mode. The top 5 players each season will receive exclusive rewards, and everyone who competes in the Proving Grounds can level up and earn the best REP in the city.
- RISE and ELITE affiliations: The ELITE vs. RISE rivalry continues in NBA 2K25 with brand new parks for both sides. ELITE players will take up residence in an old, bustling fortress that once served as a hub for seafaring pirates, with a pirate ship that features courts on deck and inside. Players who join RISE will experience a futuristic and bustling robot factory, with giant mechs being assembled everywhere. Based on community feedback, the respective courts are closer together so players can move between them more quickly and get in on the action.
- Iconic My PARK integrations: NBA 2K25 ups the nostalgia factor and celebrates 10 years of NBA 2K15 by bringing all four MyPARKs back as an event in the Event Center. From the sun-drenched Sunset Beach Park, the industrial Rivet City, the urban Old Town to the enhanced Old Town MyPARK on the aircraft carrier. All MyPARKs are recreated in every detail and receive new gen tech and lighting. A remake will be revealed for each of the first four seasons.
- Co-op Streetball: Streetball returns with even more over-the-top rewards and three all-new locations. NBA 2K25 introduces a co-op mode for Streetball, allowing players to team up with up to two other friends in 3v3, defeat new bosses, and complete Streetball quests together.
- New features for newbies: A plethora of new features have been introduced in NBA 2K25 that make the city more accessible for newcomers. Outside of each game mode building or activity, there is now a new HoloHelp information kiosk that explains to players how each game mode works and what skill level is recommended. Additionally, new, beginner-friendly, lower difficulty courts can be found in ELITE & RISE parks, allowing players to learn alongside other beginners.
For the first time, the city will also be available on PC. Players with the appropriate hardware will experience improved realism in the city thanks to ray tracing technology.
NBA 2K25 will be released worldwide on September 6 for PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Fans who purchase the game before September 6, 2024 will be able to play NBA 2K25 up to two days early on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
