It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything new to the Gears of War franchise. But we have been hearing for some time rumors about a remaster of the saga. Microsoft has a new trademark registration for the Gears of War franchise with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. On many of these occasions, the normal thing is to renew the mark, which is not at all strange. But sometimes it’s not a simple renewal and some changes are added.
Rumors have been swirling around for a few years now pointing to a remastered Gears of War collection, inspired by the hit Halo: The Master Chief Collection. EThe fact that the trademark registration refers to the series as Gears of War is an interesting point. And it is that we remember, that of Microsoft and Coalitionthe final installments eliminated “of War” in the title, being the fourth installment the last to bear that name. The most recent deliveries were left only with “Gears”: Gears 5, Gears Tactics and Gears POP. In this sense, it seems more logical to remaster the first three installments, since the fourth and fifth installments are Xbox One graphic accessories, and they are difficult to improve.
Of course, we also knew that the development of the next title in the saga is also underway, but it is impossible that this project is close to being ready to be presented and that it still has months or years to go. We’ll see what The Colalition brings us around its flagship Gears of War saga.
