15 days have passed since the launch of Xbox x series Yes S. And we gave ourselves the task of bringing them our impressions with the new generation console and some of its games. The truth is a somewhat odd launch for a new generation but let’s see the details. At the moment, I will only be able to talk about my experience with Xbox x series.
Xbox Series X launch
the November 10, 2020 launched worldwide Xbox Series X / S against many forecasts. With a year so complicated by the Covid-19 pandemic, many media were betting or doubting that next-generation consoles would land among users. The launch was carried out, although it is easy to recognize that it a very limited version on issues of units for sale. In many warehouses, consoles disappeared within minutes, and with each new wave they disappeared.
And I don’t think this is due to overly good performance other than a very limited number of units for sale. Anyway, get a Xbox Series X it became quite an achievement for the less enthusiastic public. And in turn it did a coveted object for these end of year seasons.
Once you receive the game console, it brings a very attractive presentation. When removing the components everything is very striking and well arranged, finally with a simple quick installation guide, everything is ready. And with the application of Xbox
Next generation performance
Once you’ve got everything installed and ready, it’s time to install … and install … and install. The game of Xbox Series X / S they are mastodons, even migrated from hard drive or transfer between systems. Same game-sized upgrades await, between 40 GB and 80 GB on average per game. Once everything is installed, we are ready to go.
And is this the start it’s really fast, the console of 0 to be in the interface only takes you a few seconds. and when starting a game, it’s just as fast, in 15-25 seconds you will already take action. This is something surprising because you get used to it quickly, especially if you come from a Xbox one fat. Although the difference is noticeable even from Xbox one x.
Now something that you notice. Or rather you don’t notice, it’s the total and absolute lack of console noise. The only indication that it is on is the light with the logo of Xbox. And the theme of Speed architectureAlthough not much is said about it, it is a strong point, everything is at your fingertips in seconds. Although I must point out that it is fast, it still feels like a family console Xbox one. It doesn’t sound like something so new in presentation topics. Regarding Quick Resume, this item I have to say still doesn’t work on the console, and they disabled it in games optimized for X / S Series.
The next generation games.
A console is made of games What’s wrong with that. And although Xbox how the brand put on the overalls to study, this purchasing power not reflected in the catalog of the brand. Xbox Series X / S It doesn’t give us a great next-gen proposition, but it does bring material to show us its power.
Raytracing, 4k, up to 120 frames per secondWe will see all of this and more in next generation products. And although Microsoft
Games and more games.
Gears 5: If you have played Gears the graphics are remarkable and honestly something that I recommend to release the console with. At 4k and 60fps, it looks stunning, and with improved shadow performance, everything looks new. Of the same shape we tested the game at 120 fps in multiplayer. The response to commands is simply much higher than that seen on other platforms.
Forza Horizon 4: I have to say the next-gen improvements aren’t that surprising but 60fps at 4k looks good, in a game that already Forza Horizon 4 it looked spectacular One X.
Watch_Dogs Legion: This open world game looks a lot like the next generation, except for one small detail. Laser tracing, this effect of lights and reflections brings out the elements and in a world full of mirrors, puddles and cars everything is reflected dramatically although the game does not run at more than 30 frames per second.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The strong launch of the season is the new game in the series of Ubisoft. Although it doesn’t have any major changes from the previous generation, the 60 frames per second, the drawing distance, and improved textures make it much better.
Yakuza like a dragon: One of Xbox’s strongest bets for the Japanese market is this game of Sega. The game is the best in terms of gameplay and the best the series has ever seen Yakuzaalthough its textures and frames per second are next generation. The series was also not a graphic wonder by nature.
RAM: This indie shooter leaves a little to be desired, even though it shows a lot of effort given that it was made by one person, the game has a good dose of reflections and nice textures, but you can tell it’s still a demo.
The Redux observation system: With many improvements, this game looks spectacular, and although its genre limits it, the game does grab some attention.
And other next-gen improvements.
Since the launch of the console, Xbox and the developers presented a constant series of optimizations for games. Borderlands 3, Halo the Master Chief Collection, Mortal Kombat 11 Definitive Edition among other things, they bring us subtle next-generation improvements.
Mortal Kombat 11 feels especially responsive in online modes. The game runs at 60 fps and 4k with minor graphics improvements. I think it is appreciated that developers continue to invest in their original titles although that is not going to bring them a sales boom. But if you can help keep communities alive. And help publisher pockets with the occasional microtransaction.
Now we know which games how The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will be optimized for the new generation. Even if today it is difficult to justify investing 500 dollars in a new console. Especially if you come from a Xbox one x which has quite a few games in 4K.
Conclusions.
Justifying the expense for a new console to the less enthusiastic is complicated and moreover without a flagship launch title. Cyberpunk 2077 It’s a big consolation prize but we don’t have a date for its optimization yet. I think what the general public wants is that I have Master chef to save the day Infinite halo. We’re a few days away from the Game Awards and we’ll surely see more reasons to release your brand new console.
