Hello, Xbox Wire readers! Today we held our annual Whitethorn Winter Showcase, where we released some fantastic new trailers and new details about our upcoming games coming to Xbox this year! Additionally, the ID@Xbox Developer Acceleration Program team was with us to share some information about how the program helps underrepresented developers bring their games to Xbox and introduced a new title that further extends our offering of inclusive, accessible and simple games – walking games.

Slime Heroes

ID@Xbox helps Whitethorn Games announce its partnership with Pancake Games

ID@Xbox Developer Acceleration Program Head James Lewis sat down with Pancake Games CEO and Founder Tomas Gomez to talk about how the program worked with the studio to develop the upcoming 3D action-adventure game Bring the game to market Slime Heroes on Xbox and announce a partnership with Whitethorn Games to support the release of the title. But wait – there’s more! Whitethorn has unveiled a new trailer, introducing a terrifying (yet somehow adorable) new boss and new areas for players to explore at launch!

Slime Heroes takes you on a journey through a bizarre world entrusted to an unlikely hero – a slime – who must save it from a mysterious corruption. You travel through the expansive 3D world – alone or with a friend – encountering fierce enemies, challenging but accessible puzzles, and uncovering forgotten treasures. Help your slime become the hero he was meant to be by consuming magical gems and dynamically combining them to create unique and powerful magical abilities that will help you defeat even the most corrupt minions and bosses. As you progress, discover a touching story about overcoming expectations, friendship and forgiveness, because even slimes can be heroes!

Botany Manor gets a release date

The wait for Balloon Studios’ stunning first-person plant puzzle game is almost over. Botany Mansion coming to Xbox – available day one with Xbox Game Pass – April 9, 2024! During the presentation, the studio released a new trailer that reveals new forgotten flora for players to bloom.

In Botany MansionTravel back to the 19th century and take on the role of retired botanist Arabella Greene, who studies long-forgotten plants that require very unusual conditions to bloom. You can explore a majestic English mansion and its beautifully manicured gardens to discover Arabella’s decades of research and solve puzzles to discover what exact conditions each plant needs. As you explore the tranquil homestead, you’ll also learn about Arabella’s life and her struggles as a woman in the botanical sciences during this time.

Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is coming to Xbox at launch

Your island vacation is within your reach – Myth Destroyed: Ambrosia Island coming to Xbox this summer! In a new video, Polygon Treehouse’s Alex Kanaris-Sotiriou gave an in-depth look at the gameplay, including a comprehensive look at the core friendship mechanic, treasure hunting, and much more!

Summer can’t come soon enough as we can’t wait for you to stroll along the beautiful sandy beaches Myth Destroyed: Ambrosia Island. As backpacker Alex shipwrecked on a stunning Mediterranean island, you’ll explore a beautiful vacation setting and meet the island’s many inhabitants – who just happen to be the gods of Greek myths and legends! But something is wrong when you realize that the gods have forgotten who they are. It’s up to you to befriend them, search for clues and treasure to gain their trust, and help them restore their memories so they can help you in your quest to find the way back home!

New Magical Delicacy gameplay revealed

We’re gearing up to make a splash this year with the cozy Metroidvania-lite cooking game Magical delicacy – is coming to Xbox and is available with Xbox Game Pass from day one this year! To prepare you for your own culinary adventure, solo developer sKaule dropped by the showcase with a special message and a new gameplay trailer, showcasing more of the city, its adventurer community, ingredients and of course delicious recipes!

As the young witch Flora, travel to the charming port town of Grat and conjure up delicious treats and deliver them to the city’s diverse residents. As you traverse the Metroidvanias-inspired 2D platformer, you’ll visit shops, meet the interesting townsfolk, and take part in quests to collect recipes and exotic ingredients. A good chef is resourceful, so you can take your customizable recipes to the next level by foraging across the city and growing delicious vegetables in your garden. With secrets, mysteries and drama to unravel in the enchanting linear story, Flora’s adventures in Burr will whet your appetite and have you saying “Bon Appetit!”

Accessibility in gaming matters

Ensuring that gaming is an inclusive experience is an important part of the games we publish. That’s why our Chief Accessibility Officer, Britt Dye, introduced some of the accessibility features that will be available in our upcoming games as part of our showcase. From high contrast and colorblind visual adjustments to dyslexia-friendly fonts, multiple control configurations for two- or one-handed play, customizable camera angles, non-narrative descriptive text, and more, we’re committed to helping as many players as possible play as much as possible Have fun while playing.
