Microsoft is finalizing a new update with significant improvements and news
Just a few days ago, we announced that the next Xbox update was going to bring a new way to view and organize your game library.
We now know of new options that will probably be included in the same update and that will allow us to have better management and control of the games.
In this case, referring to where to install a game or APP depending on what type it is.
Currently on our Xbox we can indicate the default location where to install the game, either on the internal hard drive of the console, in an extension on an external hard drive.
Now we can automatically tell the console that you want to install, for example, APPS on the external hard drive (which is slower) and games that require more resources are installed directly on the internal SSD hard drive, which is fastest and fastest. allows data transfer is much faster resulting in less wait time on charges.
On the official Xbox website we can read about this new option in detail:
“We’ve enabled a new feature that allows you to specify a different default install location for games, backward compatible games, and apps. Each will default to the location you previously set as your location. default installer for all content.”
Initially, Xbox will offer us three options to choose from by type of game and application, namely the following.
Games optimized for Xbox Series X|S, backward compatible games and APPS.
Obviously our recommendation is to choose the fastest hard drive (the console’s internal SSD) for optimized games, the other two options, backward compatible games and APPS, you can choose an external hard drive with read speed /lower write.
At the moment this option is only available for insiders, although, as we say, in the coming weeks it will arrive for the rest of the players.
