New power options that are particularly interesting will soon be available for the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles.
As we previously reported, Microsoft is delivering the first carbon-conscious consoles on the market with the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One family of devices.
To make this possible, new power options will be available soon and are currently being tested in the Xbox Insider Program. In the future, you will then be able to set your energy options so that the console only updates in the background when the best possible renewable energies are available in the respective region.
There is also another exciting function: “Active Hours & Sleep”. Here, based on your habits, the console is informed of times or playing times in which you often use your console f or games or other things. During this active time, the console will boot up quickly and you can wake it up remotely. Of course, those of you who have selected the “Power Saving Mode” option can also set the active hours of your console manually.
Within this window of time, as previously mentioned, the Xbox will boot up quickly and wake up remotely. When your Xbox’s active hours are up for the day, the console shuts down completely and consumes 0.5W compared to 10-15W when active.
Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Would you use the “Active Hours & Sleep” power saving mode?
