The hand-drawn 2D platformer is now available on PC
Red candle sets developed a hand-drawn 2D action platformer, Nine Floors and announced that the console version will arrive in November. It is now available on PC via Steam and it’s a stylized title that is consistent and complementary to its storied narrative. This is one of the most ambitious and ongoing projects from this independent studio to date.
New Kunlun, the last sanctuary of the Solarians, has remained quiet for centuries. In this vast realm, the ancient gods left mortals a promised land forever protected by sacred rituals, but the truth of this world remains unknown to most. Everything changes when Yi, a forgotten hero from the past, is awakened by a human child.
Follow Yi in his quest for revenge against the 9 Suns, fearsome rulers of this abandoned kingdom, and destroy all the obstacles that block your path in Sekiro-lite style battles. Explore in a unique “Taopunk” environment that combines cyberpunk elements with Taoism and Far Eastern mythology. Uncover the mysteries of an ancient alien race and uncover the fate of humanity.

- Fight in 2D Axe-lite – Slice, deflect and charge enemies and blast them with the Taoist Talisman! Each fight combines fast-paced, brutal action sequences with classic platforming mechanics.
- Intriguing boss fights: Prepare to fight against ruthless ancient guardians and frightening creatures. Be patient and use every move in your arsenal, mix it with Yi’s divine bow to defeat these larger than life characters.
- Taopunk frame – When cyberpunk collided with Taoism, merging elements of science fiction with Eastern mythology/fantasy, the experimental genre of Taopunk was born.
- Hand-drawn Environments/Animations and Manga: Nine Sols is filled with meticulous hand-drawn landscapes, hand-drawn anime-style animations based on elfwhich mix with scenes inspired by Japanese manga.
- Exploration: traverse the interconnected regions of New Kunlun. Uncover secrets, piece together the story of Yi’s revenge.
- Help from residents: Meet interesting NPCs in this world and interact with them to receive upgrades, gain new abilities, and discover useful technologies.
Nine Sols will arrive on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch on November 26, 2024.
