Nintendo issued a DMCA request against the emulator and Valve was forced to temporarily shut down the listing until the issue was resolved.
Users who were waiting to be able to emulate games from our Gamecube copies will have to wait. The Dolphin distro of Steam it was a good step to standardize the use of emulators
However, it looks like Nintendo isn’t happy about this and has already filed a complaint against the emulator’s release on the Valve store. In this way, the release of Dolphin on Steam is postponed indefinitely.
Dolphin is unlikely to return to Steam
Its creators released a announcement it kind of gives some hope as it seems like they aren’t giving up on their efforts to distribute it from legal stores. This is the statement.
It is with great disappointment that we have to announce that the release of Dolphin on Steam has been postponed indefinitely. Valve informed us that Nintendo has issued a DMCA against Dolphin’s Steam page and removed Dolphin from Steam until the issue is resolved. We are currently investigating our options and will have a more detailed response in the near future.
