Sony and Microsoft don’t have to worry about Nintendo becoming a competitor in studio takeovers.
Japanese video game maker Nintendo will not engage in studio takeovers, which have proliferated in recent years.
Microsoft and Sony therefore need not fear any competition.
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa, speaking to investors, said it would not be a win for the company if new people to the group lacked Nintendo DNA.
“Our brand has been built on products created with passion by our employees, and a large number of people in our group who don’t have Nintendo DNA would not be an asset to the company.”
With the Nintendo Switch as the best-selling and fastest-selling home console, the company doesn’t need to buy new studios anyway.
