What the modding community can do is impressive. And this may sound silly to many console users, but I can guarantee you that mods can completely change a game. Of course, not all mods will be compatible with consoles, but many of them are, and some are so powerful that they even enhance the main story.

In fact, modders are the new treasure of companies that develop RPG games, because they extend the life of their games without any cost. So many advantages for many of them. And even more for the players.

Everything points to September 2024

The fact is that mods are coming to Baldur’s Gate 3 and fortunately console users will be able to benefit from them. Of course, Xbox Series users are part of this lot, both Model X and Model S, about which there are still doubts.

Although yes, the studio itself has stated that not all versions will be the same, given that the consoles have some hardware limitations that they will have to adapt. I imagine external resources won’t be able to be downloaded, for example.

It will launch on PC first, and we hope to expand support to the wider community and multiple platforms soon after, including Mac players and PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Limitations on some platforms mean that while player-created mods can be explored, installed and used, official modding tools will not be available to console players. PC players will have access to the Baldur’s Gate 3 toolkit to create their own mods, and an internal selection process will determine which of these mods will be available to console players.

The target for the arrival of all this seems to be September 2024, a rather soft date if we take into account that mods can give a second life to the game and that there are not many versions that can compete with the proposal from Larian Studios.
