Hello again my dear readers of Xbox Generation, I still come back to tell you in detail about the last thing I was able to try, a small title, but very particular, funny and mysterious; today we have to do the analysis of omno.
Ur are a 3D platform game with the inclusion of some puzzles. This is a production by Jonas Manke and distributed by Future Friends Games and StudioInkyfox. The game is available on all platforms clearly including Xbox and PC, by the way, it is a title available since its launch in Xbox Game Pass.
Technical section
It’s an indie production and knowing that, we can be a little more objective. A game that does not offer high quality textures, on the contrary, the modeling of its characters and environments is quite simple and without too much detail, but it is supported by other resources such as the excellent use of shadows , the decor with enough details such as vegetation or the animals themselves that give it a certain “life”.
Omno is a very nice title in fact, which even if it is not a technical marvel if it surprises for good and you will surely enjoy taking a screenshot as I did for this analysis.
The sound section is equally neat and with some interesting details to highlight; The sounds of the environment, of animals or in reality of any action that we do or take, are not misunderstood at all and are chords, it is just what we would expect to hear, however, something generic is popular and for the same reason is that they don’t stand out much.
The music or the group made up is a whole different matter, they are quite harmonious and relaxed melodies that perfectly accompany our adventure and what happens, the same goes with the sounds, it does not become exceptional, but in this case if it’s remarkable.
I didn’t find any noticeable performance errors, sometimes it’s a bit slower than usual and it happened to me oddly in the cutscenes, but not in the gameplay and it wasn’t particularly boring, just to that you have it in mind.
Playability
Like I told you at the start, Omno is a 3D platformer game and luckily for many and the disappointment of some others, it’s not a particularly difficult title, it’s actually quite straightforward and fairly easy. I mention this because if you are expecting a real challenge, this is definitely not what you are looking for.
There isn’t much I can tell you about the story, not for nothing but rather it goes into the background where it is still relevant, but clearly not the most relevant. We are an adventurer traveling through a beautiful and fantastic world to discover ourselves.
Our character has a stick with which we can absorb energy and activate certain platforms. At first we will have some very basic skills, but it won’t take long to unlock others that add a touch of freshness to the adventure.
This last detail is particularly appreciated, because Omno is not a complex game in its structure, we will do the same, but for different scenarios that work at the same time as levels, I put you in context, in any scenario. there will be at least three major sources of energy, sources that will be obtained through sections of platforms or with a puzzle, and once the three sources of energy have been gathered, a final puzzle a little more complex will be activated and when solving it we will complete said level or scenario and the same dynamic will be repeated for our entire adventure.
It may sound tedious, right? It is not so much and here I have to mention two factors, the first the skills that we are going to unlock and the second and I spoil you already, in reality it is a bit short adventure so you do not have time to bored you.
The scenarios have a little more to tell and not only serve as the perfect space to play, they are very specific places like a green forest, a swamp, a frozen lake and therefore, each of them is different and beautiful in itself. . way. . To achieve this, Omno relies on its own fauna, animals that will be found scattered throughout the level, which clearly have similarities to their real counterparts and with which we can interact and it is important that you do so, because they will provide us with energy, in addition to that we will understand its importance.
It is a title in which we will enjoy the company of these inhabitants and it is shown with respect and affection; It is as if Omno wanted to convey a message to appreciate and care precisely for animals and their environment in real life.
Finding these friends is a fundamental part of the adventure and also to widen the context of the story a little bit, we will find glyphs, small “boxes” distributed in each level which, during the interaction, show us a text explaining our adventure in a simple and thoughtful way. way.
Duration
Omno is not a long title, its duration is approximately four to seven hours, that is, we can easily finish it on a dedicated afternoon or weekend without too much pressure. I find its length to be quite adequate, as it’s a simple, fun, and super relaxed game that you clearly don’t want to get hooked on for 30 hours for giving overdone data.
Its length is well justified and it doesn’t feel heavy at any point it is about four to seven hours of quality play without some type of filler. Not only that, it’s a game with a more than acceptable price tag so you couldn’t find any complaints about it either.
I recommend that you explore the levels pretty well and try to complete them 100% in your one game only, animals and glyphs work as collectibles and we could clearly skip some of them but complete the levels at 100 % is difficult it just requires a little more than attention from us too, because apart from these collectibles there is no other reason for a second round of Omno.
conclusion
It’s a pretty fun game that I had a great time with, I think this title is perfect for chilling out with something a lot less serious and very beautiful; something like after an AAA campaign or a good afternoon of games at Warzone.
There is a fact that I have not mentioned before and it is precisely that I wanted to keep it for the end, it is a game made by a person And that deserves to be recognized, especially when you notice a quality product. Jonas Manke brings us a relaxed and well-worked adventure that I recommend without any problems.
Clearly we could have asked for a bit more of everything, a better technical section, better dynamics in the gameplay or a longer duration, but the game works well as long as it is developed and who knows, the same and the next project in which Jonas ventures much more ambitious.
I remind you that Omno has been on Xbox Game Pass since its launch so there really is no excuse not to try it, give it a try and I assure you you won’t regret it.
