“our Triple A games will be multiplatform”

Games, multiplatform, Triple

Square games will be released on PC, Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox.

Japanese publisher Square Enix has revealed a new business plan that suggests the days of platform exclusivity may be over.as they seek to maximize growth and “moving to a multi-platform strategy”.

The new medium-term plan establishes four new pillars (as seen in the tweet above) focused on diversification of “Profit opportunities by strengthening customer touchpoints” thanks to the launch of games on more platforms. This includes PC, Nintendo, PlayStation and of course Xbox.

The video game industry has been in turmoil lately and many companies are looking to maximize their revenue. earned as much as possible, so releasing games everywhere seems like a no-brainer for an independent publisher. The plan does not overtly mention titles such as the Final Fantasy Remake trilogybut in the declaration it is commented that: “For major franchises and AAA titles (including catalog titles), we will create an environment where more customers can enjoy our titles.”

It seems that they are rethinking things compared to what they have been doing up until now. Xbox fans have long complained about the randomness with which Square Enix treated the launch of games on Xboxwith titles skipping launch on Microsoft’s console seemingly on a whim, with no real explanation given.
