There is no denying that Outriders has seen unexpected success for both gamers and its parent company, Square Enix. Perhaps the hardest part of this game is getting those great, legendary teams that ask for a lot. For this reason, People Can Fly, decided to put a solution to this in the form of a patch.
And it is that we are facing an update that was announced for the second half of May, but which I do not know anything else about. This patch is not yet available, but it should be out soon. Perhaps the most important thing is the increase in legendary drops, but it’s not the only thing. Then we will detail the features of this long awaited update, which was announced and explained with all its features in Reddit.
The Outriders are gearing up for a big update
The changes are mainly focused on loot, but there are also new rewards and more.

- Legendary Equipment Drop:
-
We’re making some changes to Legendary Loot. These changes are not available today, but should be uploaded as part of our next patch. Here are the changes you can expect:
-
Legendary drop rates, overall, will be increased by 100%
-
Legendary level supports will be removed, so all legendary items can drop at any level.
-
Previously, certain items could only drop on enemies of certain levels or higher. For example, the Ugake Cowl could only drop on enemies of level 48 or higher.
-
-
A legendary anti-duplication system will be implemented
-
This system means that if a character has an item in their inventory or stash and a duplicate item is thrown, the item that was dropped will be reused once.
-
Please note that this system does not guarantee that each drop is unique. Rather, it is designed to provide a second roll avoiding a duplication.
-
-
Scripted boss loot (Chrysaloid, Yagak) will be able to drop all Legendary helmets that are not class specific
-
This change will improve the variety of campaign elements.
-
Previously, these bosses only dropped a selection of Legendaries (the same group that was available in the demo, as well as the Cannonball helmet).
-
-
-
The luck system will be improved and players should no longer go through very long droughts without dropping a legendary item at the end of the game.
Connection issues:
-
Our next patch will include changes and improvements to the backend login system that aim to improve login times and alleviate login issues, especially on Xbox.
-
For the background:
-
Currently when the game connects it pulls the balance related data tables that have been updated since launch. Downloading a large number of these tables can be the main cause of login timeouts and ultimately player crashes.
-
We are now creating the updated tables directly in our next patch, which should dramatically improve connection times.

Hotfix news:
-
Our latest patch is being tested and we hope to release it early next week, although we will always confirm it. Some if your content is on the Known Issues list, but it will also include other new features, including potentially significant improvements for multiplayer sessions.
-
The previous connection issue combined with the legendary drop changes is one of the reasons we needed a little extra time with this patch. We didn’t want to implement the legendary version changes through the backend and at the same time risk negatively impacting connection times, so we needed a bit more time to add these changes to the fix.
Thank you package news:
-
Suffice to say that it did not go as planned. We regret that many of you received a weapon that you previously obtained. It was not our intention.
-
We are currently refining the script for the Recognition Pack and plan to reassign the pack to players who claimed it between its initial release (last Thursday) and the launch of its new version (likely next week).
List of known issues:
-
All items are marked as new when entering a new game session
-
Trickster movement prevented when using Cyclone ability and being stunned
-
Hells Ranger items not appearing for players in the Epic Store
-
The Pyromancers ability Feed the Flames may not properly trigger the Ashes effect in multiplayer.
-
Devastators Gravity Jump can block a client player
-
Some Mods don’t work, especially when you are the client in multiplayer sessions.
-
This is currently under study. As this may be related to specific latency thresholds, this may be part of the investigation into the larger multiplayer connectivity issue mentioned above.
-
-
Scrap Grenade mod stops working after cut scenes
-
The “Ravenous Lobster” weapon mod does not deal damage when used in conjunction with the “Weightless” mod
-
Players who die while a shield is active
-
Issue that is currently under investigation. Rather than shields that don’t mitigate damage enough, this issue could be caused by (or) a bad UI update or some shield mods that continue to activate your shield after death in some extreme cases.
-
Example: A player is constantly generating shields and their kill prevention mechanics are already on cooldown. They are then hit by waves of enemy damage which depletes both shields and health at a higher rate / faster than the shield can regenerate in that window, leading to instances where the player’s HP hit 0 for a fraction of a second before another piece of shield. is added.
-
-
Trickster’s Hunt the Prey does not flip the player onto an enemy’s back if they point down immediately after activating
-
Ravager statues set bonus ends after 8 seconds (not shown in description)
-
Technomancer Borealis set bonus is not applied correctly
-
Devastator’s Blood Donation class node may not work without an increase in skill life leech stats from other teams or nodes
-
Wake-up feature does not work as expected during multiplayer sessions with high latency / packet loss
-
Journal entries / withdrawals not appearing in supporting characters
- The Expeditions “Locked Damage” statistics results screen sometimes appears inconsistent or abnormally low
