According to new rumors, Konami plans to hire outside companies to develop a new Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania.
VGC’s Andy Robinson has added some more information to his recently published report on Konami-planned Silent Hill reboots, with possible involvement from The Medium developer Bloober Team.
According to new sources, despite the poor performance of Metal Gear Survive and Contra: Rogue Ops, Konami is planning to outsource development work to outside companies.
Robinson specifically mentions Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania. In both cases, the development is still at an early stage and will take a while until there is officially something to see, according to the VGC journalist.
I updated my Silent Hill piece via well-placed sources with additional context on Konami’s strategy:
– Konami cooled off outsourcing IPs after MG Survive & Contra flops
– Supermassive Silent Hill Pitch turned into Dark Pictures
– Plans to outsource Castlevania & MGS as well– Andy Robinson (@AndyPlaytonic) February 18, 2021
That is the timeframe that I was told yes
