Blizzard Entertainment talks to us about the development of Overwatch 2, announcing, in addition, a PvP closed beta for the end of April
Blizzard Entertainment updated the development status of Monitor 2showcased at BlizzCon 2019. The studio itself uploaded a dev diary in video format commenting on the current state of development by the game’s director himself, Aaron Keller. They also announced a PvP closed beta for the end of April 2022
“The team has made great strides in developing Overwatch 2. Daily testing and feedback gives us confidence that we’re building something you’ll love. (…) Admittedly, we haven’t been up to speed with communication and new content for Overwatch lately. We heard you and we are fully committed to being more consistent in future content for Overwatch 2 (…).
Our plan is for you to be able to play soon. We are tweaking the PvP features to be able to isolate it from the PvE part so we can bring it to you ASAP. This includes the new 5v5 team format, new maps, new heroes, new Push game mode and many other features. Which will mean the most new content since the game launched (…).
We would like to share that this very week we are going to start a play test of Overwatch 2 with a alpha closed, including a new hero, Sojourn. We would also like to announce that we will be opening the first PvP closed beta at the end of April. If you are interested, visit playoverwatch.com (…)”.
