In a live twitch, Overwatch 2’s Game Director and Executive Producer announced the cancellation of PvE for the 2023 release! They explain this decision as a significant effort with minimal progress.
After all we’ve learned about what it takes to bring this game to the level you deserve, it’s clear that we can’t deliver on the original vision for PvE that was shown in 2019. We won’t be offering a dedicated hero mode. With talent trees or long-term power development, those things just aren’t part of our plans anymore
