Ubisoft partners with Limbitless Solutions to create Assassin’s Creed Odyssey-style bionic arms.
Limbitless Solutions, a nonprofit that makes 3D printed bionic arms for children and adults, has partnered with Ubisoft to create a prosthetic sleeve modeled on Kassandra’s bracers in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Under the name “Bracers of the Underworld”, Limbitless Solutions was the first company to start testing interchangeable cases in 2019. Limbitless aims to make inexpensive prostheses available to the masses through the use of 3D printing and plans to combine this with individual artistic designs that recipients can personalize online.
Matt Dombrowski, professor at the School of Visual Arts & Design and a member of Limbitless, said, “Transcending classroom walls with digital sculpting, 3D printing and airbrush painting techniques is essential to our success. This collaboration gives our Limbitless students at UCF the opportunity to use digital and traditional art tools to bring the designs of the Assassin’s Creed series to life. “
Limbitless has partnered with many other studios in the past to create pop culture-related prostheses, including the latest on the subject of prosthetic arm Cyberpunk 2077, Johnny Silverhand from Keanu Reeves is modeled on. These arms will be donated to children and adults in upcoming clinical trials starting in 2021.
