The latest patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on console and Mac.

The latest patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on console and Mac. Patch 7 brings new bad endings, reworked split-screen gameplay and a selection of mods created by the community itself.

To celebrate the modding season – and the fact that over 15 million mods have already been downloaded – Larian teamed up with Mashed to create an animation pitting the Baldur’s Gate 3 Origin characters against the turbulent Wizard of Mod and his army of unfiltered Chaos begins. The animation can be viewed here:

Already available on PC, Patch 7 now gives Mac and console players access to mutilations, multiplayer updates, and a growing collection of player-created mutations included in the latest patch.

Highlights include:

  • A dedicated mod manager in the game: Players can browse, install and use a curated selection of mods created by the community. With the Baldur’s Gate 3 Toolkit – an official, accessible way to enter the world of modding – new mods can be created on PC.
  • New ‘Bad Endings’: There are brand new cinematic endings for the most evil playthroughs, as well as unique endings when playing an Origin character.
  • Reworked split-screen gameplay: Dynamic split-screen is now available for couch co-op multiplayer. When players play in split screen and are near a party member, the screen merges into one as they adventure together.

It’s been a few weeks since the PC community got their hands on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Modding Toolkit, and a whole bunch of mods have been made since then.

Players can oil environments for additional fire pandemonium, add new interface options to make the experience more personal, or roam the Sword Coast with 15 additional party members. There’s more information about what kind of otherworldly mods are causing turmoil in Faerûn in the latest community update. This can here be viewed.

For players who are new to the world of modding or who really want to give Astarion a beard, Larian has prepared a video. This introduces some of the best mods for beginners, on the newly set up Larian: Channel from Hellwhich features exclusive behind-the-scenes looks, interviews with the developers, and other regular mayhem.

Players who have fallen in love with the bizarre art of modding and are curious to try their hand at it can be found here the full modding guidelines.

Today’s patch also brings quality-of-life improvements in the areas of scripting, writing, animations and general gameplay.

Players can test their might in Honor Mode, now with additional difficulty and customization options, including new Legendary Moves, as well as numerous fixes for Origin characters and Dark Urge playthroughs. There may even be a way for a certain Tiefling bard to join the group… for a limited time. Players just shouldn’t get too used to them. The full patch notes for Patch 7 are available here.
