Last December Microsoft seized the opportunity for a gala award Game Awards to present to the world its next concert, the Xbox Series X. Looking back I think it's clear that the presentation was a success and that the Xbox Series X was "born" as expected and far from the controversies that were in the Xbox One launch in 2013.
Phil Spencer was very clear that he did not want to repeat what he had with Xbox One, because at that time poor communications and some controversial decision caused Xbox One to suffer more penalties, something the Xbox team wanted to do away with in the Xbox Series X announcement.
The Xbox Series X had a great presentation
We have to do something great, something that has never been seen before. Let's do it, we are not in the position we wanted to take in the present generation. I don't think we can grow in the sector if we keep doing what we want. Let's try something new.
We have to make decisions, and often, we don't know how the community will react. Every time we make the choice between today and the launch of the Xbox Series X, we try to do it differently than usual.
Some of these options will be OK and some may not, but we certainly won't be silent. We want to do great things.
In this quote from a survey of Gamesradar makes it clear that the Xbox team did not want to make the same mistakes and that is why they chose a different situation and the exact inertia that has been haunting the Xbox brand since the launch of the Xbox One X.
The Xbox Series X will hit the market later this year, counting its launch with the anticipated Halo Infinite.
