Phil Spencer sees Xbox Game Pass as a perfect funding model for other projects.
Phil Spencer recently spoke about the impact of Xbox Game Pass as a funding model for other games. This does not mean that other developments are funded with Xbox Game Pass launches, it is something much simpler, it gives developers more tools to create their game.
For the boss of the Xbox division, the service of Xbox Game Pass serves as an investment fund. He himself explained that with this model, they create benefits that they can then use to create other projects.

We're creating revenue for ourselves that we can then reinvest in the marketplace, to create a safer situation for our teams when they think… 'Okay, how much is this game going to sell? We do not rate Game Pass offers based on the number of units you sell. When the game enters the service, here is your payment.
Frankly, I also like when these games come out on other platforms. Not all teams can do this from a visibility perspective, as they can really take advantage of the Game Pass community boost to sell more copies on Steam or PlayStation. It's good for them to be on Game Pass, it's part of their marketing.
I could talk about it as a way for teams to aspire to innovate a little more outside of their comfort zone, because they have a guarantee on our revenue stream. did that if we hadn't known.
