SONY and Amazon have rebooted plans for the Prime Video series God of War.
The previous plans for the God of War series have been scrapped and it’s starting all over again, as Deadline reports.
Sony and Amazon liked the scripts, but a completely new team of writers will be hired because the creative direction has changed.
According to the report, scripts for several seasons already existed before showrunner Rafe Judkins (The Wheel of Time) and writers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus (Children of Men, Iron Man, The Expanse) left the project.
“The studios apparently want to go in a different creative direction, although a source told Deadline that the trio’s scripts have been praised by both Sony and Prime,” it continues.
The God of War series was announced by Amazon Prime Video in 2022. In terms of content, it should tie in with the events of the reboot of the video game series.
