Further technical details are known about the previously unannounced PlayStation 5 Pro console.
Last week, alleged technical details about a PlayStation 5 Pro console circulated online. SONY has never officially announced such a console. So it remains to be seen what a possible mid-gen version of the PS5 can do.
According to Insider Gaming, the specifications are real. The PlayStation 5 Pro will reportedly be released in winter.
In addition to the technical details mentioned so far, the PS5 Pro is reported to be equipped with 30 WGPs special BVH8 traversal shaders. The previous PS5 only has 18 WGPs with BVH4 transversal shaders.
The console will also have a removable disc drive, probably to be as “competitive” as possible, as they say. The drive is also compatible with the latest version of the PlayStation 5.
In addition to 1 TB of storage space, the console will probably come with SKD 10.00 when it is released in the fall. So far version 9.00 is running.
