The first update on World of Warships: Legends 2021 is brimming with new additions, with the main attraction being the long-awaited aircraft carriers! What’s great is that porters are just one of many highlights, including: the Dragonslayer campaign featuring the battle cruiser Siegfried, British early access heavy cruisers, a new team deathmatch mode – Arena – and New Years content.
Aircraft carriers that are in demand so often and so frequently are finally making an epic performance. Flattops, known as Langley, Ranger, Hōshō, and Ryūjō, are the first porters to set foot on our legendary waters. To get your chance to become King of Heaven you will need to finish some battles against the newcomers first. Don’t linger either! The event only lasts until February 15th! The aircraft carriers are vastly different from what you’re used to, and it’s about how you control them, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. They add an extra dimension to the gameplay we know and love. So it is of the utmost importance that we get as much feedback from you during the event before these ships are sent back to the shipyards so that we can work our magic and enjoy it again to its full release later in the year.
For those who love killing dragons, our new campaign is for you! While there is no literal battle with mythical beasts, our new German battle cruiser Siegfried can take on many enemies no matter what steel monster it may be. Siegfried is based on a design for heavy surface raiders and features six powerful 15-inch cannons and one set of torpedo launchers per side. Your armor configuration also allows for interesting fishing battles for the tacticians among you. The campaign consists of one hundred milestones divided into five parts, one per week of the update. Find your rhythm, beat the challenges and unleash the dragon slayer! Once you are done with the campaign, you will be able to continue completing missions to unlock the new currency – steel badges that can be spent on a variety of items in the forge, including the USS Missouri, one of the legendary Iowa class battleships!
If you’re looking for some unbridled adrenaline, Arena could quench your thirst! This is a new game mode in which four teams of three players each battle it out for survival. Season 1 offers Tier V ships for a wide variety of options, and your success won’t go unnoticed. We have prepared a ladder system that will rank players based on their XP earned in Arena Battles. Hit the top 1% and get a hefty helping of steel badges! If you’re not looking for a hardcore competition just give it a try and get some of the interim rewards in just a few battles.
The crown is heavy … Not necessarily when you’re heading for the new heavy British cruisers! They own a great kit including a selection of HE and AP shells, sonar, and repair party. Remember to position your ship well and use your arsenal generously. Earl Gray tea and salt water have never tasted so good together! Tier IV through VI heavy cruisers include the new Royal Navy containers for early access in this update. Another cool item in these containers is the Union Jack camouflage, which you can use to outfit your ships of any nation with the coveted British flag!
You might think we’re done with the New Year celebrations, but the Lunar New Year is yet to come! Look out for two collector’s premium cruisers, special occasion containers, and unique camouflages starting February 12th. A specially themed port is just the cherry on top of this varied and historic update!
