According to Phil Spencer, quality issues were not the reason for the postponement of the Avowed game.
Xbox Game Studios has so many first-party games in its pipeline this year that it makes you wonder who’s going to play them all.
Avowed was postponed a few months ago to February 18, 2025, probably so that every game has its chance.
Obsidian Entertainment’s game was not delayed due to quality issues.
With games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle or the Diablo IV expansion Vessel of Hatred, you can afford postponements, Phil Spencer said in an interview with Game file.
The head of Microsoft’s gaming division said:
“We can afford it if we have the Diablo expansion, then Black Ops, then Indy [und der Große Kreis].”
“We didn’t postpone it because Obsidian needed the time. They will use the time.”
“[Xbox Game Studios-Chef] Matt Booty and I, we planned it, we talked to the Game Pass team… We said, ‘Okay, let’s make sure we space this out a little better,'” he added.
