Imagine the scene: It’s family game night and you’re playing Monopoly. Your younger sibling hands you over his last belongings with tears in his eyes. Your parents look on with disapproval, but they are powerless against the absolute law of the rulebook while you gaze proudly at a game board entirely controlled by you. And it’s good. Unfortunately, the families of many of us no longer get together for intense Monopoly games. Maybe it’s difficult to get everyone in one place, or maybe your family is just cowardly to your superior capitalist intellect. Anyway, you can feel that thrill again in a competitive game for money and materials: railway empire 2!
Similar to those old-school board games, you get to choose one of six characters in the game. However, this is unlike Monopoly, where these characters offer no real gameplay other than style points (and therefore the best character to play with is the Top Hat – fight me). railway empire 2The six individual characters each offer advantages and disadvantages in the game. While the engineer may be a master at constructing and maintaining railroad tracks, he does not have quite the persuasiveness of a gangster when it comes to acquiring factories at auction. The professor can haggle for cheaper locomotives, while the wily entrepreneur can make the most of the staff who run her empire.
Once you’ve decided on the character of your choice, it’s time to start playing! Start with a fledgling town and begin to connect and expand with the game’s intuitive yet complex track creation system. You’ll have to decide whether it’s worth building an expensive bridge across choppy waters, or taking the long detour that will slow down the route but save valuable cash to build more tracks or resource-building factories.
Factories and warehouses, like hotels in Monopoly or a fianchetto in Chess, are long-term investments for your empire. These give you economic advantages over your opponents by producing sophisticated goods and efficiently distributing them between cities.
But you will be richly rewarded for supplying a city with these complex luxuries, as the city will grow, providing you with new customers who will rely on your company to transport them and feed their ever-growing appetite for the good life .
So while railway empire 2 You may not be able to traumatize your younger sibling, but it will still encourage a healthy competitive spirit. You can slowly buy out your competitors before eventually absorbing their empire into your own. Alternatively, and unlike real family members, you can gradually buy out their businesses – meaning their profits, even if they appear to be in competition with you, still flow into your coffers. This is, after all, the golden age of the locomotive, the birth of the railroad system, and a perfect opportunity for a savvy entrepreneur like you.
