This week the creative director of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction Patrik Méthé was interviewed by Gamespot about his show “Play For All”. It was an opportunity for the man at the helm of this new episode to speak in more depth about his vision of the video game park venue, and more specifically in the face of his big brother juggernaut Rainbow Six Siege.
The fear at the sight of the offer Rainbow Six extraction, in fact, lies in the fact that it and its predecessor get each other rolling by suggesting too close content. However, Ubisoft doesn’t seem to care on this point and the creative director explains why.
These are two very different games, each with their own set of challenges and rewards, so we don’t have to worry about them, on the contrary. extraction is a PvE game by nature – we are confident that players from all walks of life will be drawn to both experiences -.
For players who already know siege, it will be about discovering some of the operators in a new way and using them in a new way that remains familiar. According to Méthé, the two titles are so differentiated that the newcomer offers a new and refreshing gaming experience while maintaining the similarity to the previous work.. And for those who have the Sagittarius in his entrenchments and feel the greatest difficulty the studio sees a challenge that could be even spicier than at siege. It’s hard to believe that the latter is one of the best in professional competition, and has been for more than five years.
On the side of the newcomers to the universe Rainbow Six, extraction should offer a very rich tactical cooperation experience. The goal of the studio is to attract people who want to improve their skills and strategies as the games progress, to push their limits and pass each mission easier than the last. Méthé specifies that “communication and teamwork are all the more necessary for these players”. This reflects another concern that the game may not be accessible to those who are not already avid license users.
While we provide reassuring points about Ubisoft’s vision of the differences and synergies between the two titles, Nevertheless, Méthé raises or accentuates new questions that are only answered when you leave Rainbow Six extraction. The game will be released on September 23, 2021 for Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One as well as for PC via the Ubisoft Store. Pre-orders for Xbox are already available in the Microsoft Store in dematerialized version for $ 69.99, as well as’in stores for the physical version.
