Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 1, Operation Commanding Force is available now.
Ubisoft announced that the first season of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 8, Operation Commanding Force, is available now.
This season introduces Brava, a new Brazilian attacker, as well as major gameplay updates including a more realistic reload update, the MouseTrap feature, which will be introduced later in the season to identify players using mouse and keyboard on consoles , as well as other measures against toxic behavior.
Commanding Force unleashes Brava, an invaluable new attacker equipped with the Kludge Drone. This drone offers new ways to sabotage enemy technology by taking control of their devices or destroying them.
A highly adaptable Operator, Brava can gain an advantage in any environment by tapping into the electronic resources at her disposal. Brava is an Operator with three points of speed and one point of health, and her loadout consists of a PARA-308 or a CAMRS as her primary weapon and a USP40 or a Super Shorty as her secondary weapon.
Important Anti-Cheat Updateslike MouseTrap, will be introduced in Operation Commanding Force to further enhance player protection. Some players use mouse and keyboard instead of a controller on the consoles, giving them an unfair advantage. MouseTrap is designed to detect and punish these players for unfair behavior. In doing so, the penalty will add additional latency to those users’ inputs, making it harder to aim and fire with their operator. If a detected user chooses to play with a controller, the penalty will be gradually reduced, reverting back to normal after a few games.
Additional measures against inappropriate behavior include a new reputation penalty for voice chat abuse. While this penalty is active, repeat offenders will be muted by default to prevent hateful and disruptive content in voice chat. Muted players can still use voice chat, but will only be heard by players who manually unmute them.
A year 8 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is focused on solidifying its position as an intense tactical shooter where purposeful action, precision, and creative tactics are the keys to success. The new immersive reload system aims to create a more realistic experience where reloading has more consequences.
If the reload animation is interrupted, the player will be left without a magazine, even if he reloads before it is completely empty. However, with closed-bolt weapons, a single shot remains in the magazine, which can be used at any time during reloading.
In addition, Commanding Force brings a balancing update to Zero, weapon attachment balancing changes, game section UI improvements, and more.
Also this season are new onboarding features to help new players get started in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege: Rookie Challenges and Operator Specialties. Operator Specialties describe an Operator’s playstyle in the game. All Operators have one or two Operator Specialties, which can be reviewed during the Planning Phase, in the Operator Panel, and in the Operator Guides.
die Operator Specialties are designed to help beginners learn these and understand what they add to combat. By completing Novice Challenges, players can earn a variety of rewards. When players complete all of the challenges within an operator specialty, they receive an operator from the completed specialty. If the operator is already owned, its value in the form of reputation is credited instead. All players can complete the challenges and get all the rewards, not just beginners.
From February 20th to March 20th, players can purchase the limited-time Year 8 Pass to unlock the four seasonal Battle Passes, 14-day early access to new Operators when they are released, exclusive exotic weapon skins, a 10% VIP -Discount in the shop, up to 2,400 R6 credits and more.
The Premium Year Pass includes all of the aforementioned benefits plus 20 additional Battle Tokens per Season, which can be used to unlock rewards faster.
The Season 1 Battle Pass introduces the Bravo Pack Ticket, a rare item that can be used to select an exclusive reward from the latest Bravo collection. Premium players who reach level 100 in the Battle Pass this season will receive this ticket as a reward for their commitment.
