Rappy 1st Anniversary, Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis

So, I think when asked about it, I can finally pronounce the name of the weapon series (Kukuhroziat) best suited to power the newly introduced geometric maze PSO2 NGS (I had to look up the spelling, though.) Luckily, the PSO2 NGS The First Anniversary Event, which began on May 11th, brings a new Elemental Weapon Series that’s a lot easier to say (and spell) – the Obscura Weapon Series. Weapons from this series will drop in the new limited-time quest Drill: Dazzling Chaos Suppression Op and can be exchanged for Seasonal Points in the Seasonal Points Exchange Shop run by Xitre after she returns from vacation. The Anniversary Event also includes changes to the Retem and Central City decor, possible sightings of the Anni Rappy, and additional collectibles in the form of the Annives Artichoke and Randomit. However, what I find most exciting is the introduction of new trials in all sectors with a new enemy – Captan. This enemy reminds me of a rare enemy I’ve encountered occasionally in PSO2, Mesetan, which dropped tons of Meseta.

If my mention of the new Obscura weapon series intrigues you, then I would suggest your first task is to collect Seasonal Points so you can purchase a pre-upgraded weapon from this Dark Element series in the Seasonal Points Exchange Shop. This way you can use it right away without having to sacrifice all your saved +EXP Gold and Silver Prim Swords to level it up. In addition to Obscura weapons, Xitre also has a fine selection of augments, stamps, and some weapon camouflages from previous Elemental Weapon Series. You can even snag her some Star Gems, so maybe you’ll get the items I’ve been looking for from the Refined Form 2 SG Scratchcard Collection (Punkishly Vivid, why keep eluding me?!). and also exchange season points for NGS 1^St Anniversary Exchange Tickets that can be used in Xitre’s other shop for +50 Black Armor. For those still working to collect weapon refiners to cap their armor above +40 (I count myself in that group), these armors are extremely tempting. As the icing on the cake 1^St Anniversary cake, every armor is already augmented!

I hope you’re lucky enough to run into Captan while farming Seasonal Points, as this enemy drops some select Augment Capsules in NGS, which I think are even better than N-Meseta (though phashionists might disagree ).

June brings the Kvaris update and a whole host of new areas to discover, so it would be a good idea to have some time to level up and prepare.
