The aim of the game is to reach the last escape capsule alive. But it won’t be that easy, as players will have to survive hordes of infected prisoners, evade deadly security systems and outwit enemy survivors who are out to get them.
The players are not an overpowering hero, but a simple security guard who is just trying to survive. He has an arsenal of deadly weapons, suits, upgrades and experiments at his disposal.
- Fight, Die, Modify: Every death is an experience from which one can learn. Players start each run anew, building up their loadout with powerful experiments, weapons, and reinforcements to fight their way through Black Iron. After death, the loot earned can be used to purchase new weapons, suits, and abilities.
- Fight to the last corpse: When players die, they leave behind more than just a corpse in a hazmat suit. The undead corpse has the same equipment as the previous playthrough, plus a few additional tricks up its sleeve to make combat unpredictable.
- Eliminate the competition: Players are not the only person who survived the first opening and is ready to use violence to reach the final escape pod. Some prisoners – and even colleagues in the prison system – are just as eager and willing to do anything to escape.
- Kill or be killed: Players who have defeated all bosses are faced with a choice: use the escape pod or risk everything in a hardcore run that either unlocks powerful gear or means losing everything.
- Future Punk: Players will immerse themselves in a world of attitude and vibrant graphic novel visuals, including a 180bpm arcade punk soundtrack by Mutato Muzika that sets the pace for relentless action. The game’s sharp, irreverent style adds to the sci-fi chaos of [REDACTED]a unique atmosphere at every moment.
