Broken Sword: Templar Conspiracy: Reforged will be released in September for consoles and PC.

Revolution Software is excited to announce that players, both original fans and new players, can look forward to exploring the streets of Paris in search of adventure this fall. The developer confirms that Broken Sword: Reforged will launch on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Broken Sword – Templar Conspiracy: Reforged is a major expansion to one of the most popular adventures of all time and was already presented with much fanfare at Gamescom 2023 in Cologne.

It’s a completely remastered version of George and Nico’s original adventure, taking players from the atmospheric streets of the French capital to the mysterious mountains of Syria to the sun-drenched coasts of Europe and a whole host of stunning locations in between.

The backgrounds were repainted based on the original drawings by Don Blooth’s layout artists, the sprites were revived, and the audio was improved to bring the voice and legendary soundtrack by the late Barrington Pheloung to a new level.

A new “Story Mode” redefines adventure gameplay for the modern era, striking a dynamic balance between narrative and gameplay progression to deliver a breathtaking gaming experience for a new generation of adventure fans.

Charles Cecil, founder and CEO of Revolution Software, said: “Point and click provides a simple interface that evolves into engaging, challenging gameplay. But the user experience has remained unchanged since the 1990s, when Broken Sword redefined the genre. Our research shows that players today prefer a more contemporary experience.”

“Broken Sword has an extremely passionate fanbase that spans three generations. With these visual and user experience improvements, we look forward to hearing from fans as the game once again transitions into the fourth generation who love narrative-driven games.”

The news comes months after Revolution raised more than £600,000, more than twelve times its original target of £50,000, for a physical collector’s edition of Broken Sword: Reforged.

Broken Sword is known for its combination of witty scripts and logical yet challenging puzzles. The game was first released for PC and PlayStation in 1996 and is an acclaimed series in the adventure genre.
