One of the novelties of the week was undoubtedly the official announcement of Counter-Strike 2. After many rumors and leaks, Valve made it official with an approximate release date: summer 2023. We still have a few months to take advantage of this new version. of one of the most successful shooters in history, but we are already starting to learn some details about what lies ahead.
These proceed through datamining, with which some users have managed to reveal information about what is to come.
New weapons, anti-cheat system and more could be coming with Counter-Strike 2
This way, as famous data miner Gabe Follower showed, we would have Added new weapons. Among these are bear trapsan incendiary grenade activated by a tripwire and a pipeline. The latter, although it seems very simple, could be a new melee weapon, effective and realistic. These weapons are surely more focused on the Danger Zone mode, Counter-Strike’s battle royale, which will continue to be present in its sequel, and which Valve tends to take great care of.

Beyond these weapon revelations, Gabe also showed proof of a possible mobile version of the game. These files found in the code speak of a “mobile Counter-Strike 2”, which would be a real bomb, as well as a logical step in the company’s strategy. Finally, there is also talk of a new anti-traffic systemwhich will void the game if an illegal trick is detected.
About a year ago there was a rumor that @Counter Strike
the developers plan to create versions for other platforms. So is CS2 Mobile actually happening? https://t.co/EEodpH8HpG pic.twitter.com/KVvrOve0VK— Gabe follower (@gabefollower) March 23, 2023
Of course, all of this has to be taken with a grain of salt. Until it’s official, we can’t guarantee anything, but the fact that all these references are in the game code gives us confidence. Of course, Valve’s plans could have shifted or changed in the future and seen none of that when the game officially launched.
