Review – Goat Simulator 3, much better than 2!

Goat, Review, Simulator

Okay, there is no episode 2, but at the same time the developers had to think about how to complete a trilogy if they don’t go straight to the third part? Why not. It’s silly and not bad entertainment, technically of good quality, to spend a few hours laughing at the 3000 references to pop culture and the ridiculousness of the situations. And it all goes there in a not-so-subtle way, with big clogs for a three-friend-to-share antics. Don’t look for satire there, Goat Simulator 3 is above all a little shameful pleasure, jubilant and regressive, nothing more and nothing less.

Note 1 : Goat Simulator 3 can be played online with up to four players.

Note 2 : I had no idea about the titles below so it started off with really bad puns which I don’t take. Thank you for your misunderstanding.

Skyrim to nothing, all that!

As in any good video game, our character wakes up at the beginning of the “adventure”. Except, of course, that we’re inspecting a goat here. And not just any, as we understand a homage to in the opening sequence Skyrim that it’s the same bug that messed up the first game. From the first moments I measured made the technical leap forwardthe “mod” side a little crappy and buggy, the side tinkered with three pieces of string Goat simulator 1 is to forget. So much the better for my comfort, so much the worse for the romantic aspect of the rebellious goat on the fringes of the rest of the industry.

Goat simulator 3 takes over the legacy of the first Mixture of silly targets to full third-person acrobatics… uh should I say to the third goat? Physics allow for a thousand and one pranks and we enjoy everything and often that’s exactly what needed to be done. No, but it’s usually the kind of game where I rack my brains and let the brat inside me act. A good-natured release.

The map available is outrageously larger than that of the first installment. A rural part, another industrial one and then a much more urban one. In short, nothing very original but sufficiently well made to navigate with pleasure. In addition, this playground is full of activities that provide so many opportunities to make fun of TV shows, movies, etc. The references jostle, recognizing them becomes a game within a game, even if the lack of subtlety makes them very easy to spot. There a hidden level à la DOOM, here Assassin’s Creed spits it all out… it never stops.

Attention mottled bullet satire!

I quickly come back to the relief I felt after sometimes railing against Goat simulator 1. Here technology literally holds the road. In fact, to give just one example, I was afraid to drive. Yes, we can drive in by car Goat Simulator 3, stay focused of course, thank you. I thought it would row, crash. But no, the result is impeccable: you can do all the goat nonsense without crashing into the wall with a weak technical finish.

At no time Goat Simulator 3 don’t risk being anything other thantop notch entertainment. Never a satire or criticism of the filthy habits of our so-called modern societies. In short, I had the impression of playing a technically solid and successful new edition of the first episode. Very comfortable but not stunning. Finally, if the rare dialogues are in English, the subtitles and interfaces are available in French.
