Re:Legend is the new roleplaying game Magnus Game Studios y 505 Games where we will have to take care of our own farm, raise monsters and help solve the problems of a town. There is no doubt that the title is inspired by games like Stardew Valley oh Pokemonwhile integrating RPG elements.
Being a farmer in Re:Legend
Before starting the game we will have to create our character, choosing the hairstyle, gender and others.
The story begins when someone pushes our character into a ravine. We woke up on a mysterious island, where Vokka Town is located, a small town inhabited by both strange people and animals. We also lost our memory, so we have no memory of what happened.
After going through the hospital and since we have nowhere to go, the mayor gives us an old farm for us to stay and also take care of her. It is here where we can plant fruits and vegetablesboth to sell them and to cook. You can also fish and even breed fish of different sizes, but yes, if we decide to raise them, we will have to feed them.
To sell what we produce, we will leave what we want in a warehouse that we have on one side of the farm.where someone will come every morning to change what we leave for money.
We can also customize the interior of the farmhouse, we can change and move almost everything, as well as buy new furniture.
This area of the game is pure Stardew Valley oh harvest moon, a corner where you can spend a moment of relaxation while you perform typical farm duties.
The days pass in Re:Legend
In the game we have a day/night cycle, a calendar and the seasons of the year
At night our character will start to get tired and we will have to sleep, either on the farm or in a camp we have. The schedules also influence the other characters, the stores have opening and closing times, each character has their routine and you have to plan ahead.
Our character also has limited energy, each time you perform an action or each time you fight an enemy, the bar decreases. You can recover energy while sleeping.
The town of Vokka
The city is not exactly small, we have several neighborhoods and shops to visit. He has blacksmith, various shops (which we can improve), the beach, the fishing pier, the mayor’s house, the square, etc..
Keep in mind that you won’t have access to all the buildings in the city from the start, but you will unlock them as you progress through the story. this is how in the case of multiplayer, which is unlocked in one of the buildings near the gateyes soon enough.
friendship and love
When we talk to the different characters, our level in the relationship will increase, even if we give them something they like on their birthday or execute different commands. You can even marry someone.
From time to time, there will be character-specific events that will allow us to learn more about the characters and get closer to them. I haven’t really noticed this happening with a specific friendship level, but it’s more of a random thing.
Fighting and breeding monsters
The world is full of all kinds of creatures and monsters, called Magnus, some more dangerous than others, so combat is essential. We have several weapons to choose from, at the start we can carry a staff, cast spells, a great sword, double swords or a bow. We can carry everything, but we will consume more space from our inventory.
In terms of movements, there is not much variety, we have the normal attack and then a special move that unlocks as we level up the weapons. We can dodge enemy attacks by rolling, in addition we will know when they will attack us since they will warn us of certain indicators that will mark the area it will cover and the direction of the blow.
Magnus can be tamed with foodYes, everyone likes something different. If we are right and give him something he likes, we will have the opportunity to ride him and he will join our group. They will fight alongside us and we can also use them as mounts to move faster or even attack with them. Each Magnus has different abilities
The Magnus we can carry are limited, so we will have to send them to the barn, where they can rest, and rotate them. If we fulfill a series of characteristics (or if we give them certain foods), our Magnus can evolve and increase their power.
More RPG Components
Our character has an inventory, where we can change armor, accessories and weaponsIn addition, each change is aesthetically visible.
As for the capacitiesthese will level up with use, for example while driving, the more you drive the more level you will have. The weapons also level up with their own use, and we can go to the blacksmith to touch them even more and take more damage.
The game world
The world of Re: Legend, forgive the redundancy, there is nothing exciting. In size it is quite acceptable but items and enemies will always be the same in exactly the same places.
There are trees of different types to cut down, minerals to cut, and items to pick up. For example, on the beaches we will see shells and other sea tools, in the meadows, fruit or grass and in the mines and dungeons parts of the enemies.
Graphics and soundtrack
The graphics of the game are quite simple but results, fluidity is privileged above all, the title sought to give a pleasant feeling and it succeeds. The characters have a very nice chibi style and the Magnus and other creatures are made based on this same style. The settings are just as nice and the effects are pretty average. It’s simply something that could work on any mobile today without issue.
The soundtrack is made up of lively melodies during the day and calm at night.. The general tone is, once again, to give a relaxed and simple atmosphere. Characters do not have voice acting, although they make sounds when interacting with them.
The duration of the game and some problems
The game can last almost as long as you want, days and seasons pass even if you don’t do the story missions. As for what the “main story” is, well in about 12 hours or less you can have it completely on trackalthough you will need some improvements.
Re:Legend has quite annoying problems, for example when it comes to interacting, if you’re playing with a controller, the pointer doesn’t make it clear where you’re pointing and you’ll end up doing something you don’t want more times than it first appears. Some sounds are repeated too much, for example, some that characters make when interacting with them, it can get a bit tiring.
Energy is another thing to comment on as well as the hours of the day, in a game where there is so much to do you can’t help but think that they cut the energy and the hours to lengthen the game artificially. The theme of hours is very noticeable when performing certain temporary missions which depend on certain enemies dropping x item and energy limiting you to cut practically 2 trees per day.
Re: Legend’s Final Verdict
Re:Legend is a good game that combines the relaxation and addiction of farm management games with the relative complexity of RPGs. It has its flaws and its problems but it is a highly recommended and fun title with which we will lose track of time.
