Developer Go forward announced that river town girls 2 will be launched for Xbox One, Xbox Series and other platforms in the summer of 2022. The long-awaited sequel to one of the best beat them of the last days (courtesy of Streets of Rage 4) is coming back stronger than ever. river town girls 2 picks up where its predecessor left off and expands its story by including new characters. Passionate high school students Misako, Kyoko, Kunio Yes Rikiwith new arrivals Marian Yes Provie, they join the fight of a lifetime when an old enemy returns to wreak havoc in the city.
Six playable characters, two-player online co-op, and a slew of new features
Our protagonists have their own fighting styles and sets of evolving movements. As in the first adventure, they will be able to acquire different techniques as the story progresses or by buying them in stores or gyms.
In river town girls 2 the combat system has been significantly improved, including a host of elements that make it more organic. Our protagonists will fight with props that alter statistics, new weapons and additional movements. In the list we will find the Kick the wheel by Kyoko y el Lightning rider by Misako. In addition, new general movements have been integrated to give more dynamism to the clashes, such as the Guard shots or takeoff combos.
Recruiting enemies to fight alongside us is back in this sequel. Now we can hold back up to 2 allies to help us in battles and even hire servants which are even stronger than these.
Many additions that make this River City Girls 2 awesome
River City is now more alive than ever, with a day and night cycle, more complex scenarios, with more stores, new dangers, hidden areas and a large amount of destructible objects. The fight will take us to new areas of the city, including slums, the campus of a tech company or an enchanted forest. Of course, we will face a variety of new enemies and bosses, such as the Twin Dragons (Ryûji and Ryûchi). Heroes will even be able to visit hiding places where they can store additional material, swap recruits, or just relax and listen to some music.
Other additions to river town girls 2 include enhanced mission tracking, three difficulty levels, and a dynamic history system which changes the dialogs according to the characters we control. And of course, the game features a new animated intro, new anime style cut scenes and a new soundtrack by synthpop from the original composition of River City Girls, Megan McDuffee.
As you can see, this sequel promises to live up to what is expected of it and it looks like lovers of the first installment won’t be disappointed.
