Rockstar regrets through its statement the massive material leaks in the development of GTA VI that emerged this weekend
Last weekend, social media burned as they started posting various videos and images of what appeared to be GTA VI. Dozens of GB in the form of videos that contain all kinds of information such as the appearance of the protagonists, the environments of Vice City or character animation tests.
Rockstar Games was quick to come forward to issue an official statement on the events that unfolded. Where they deeply regret what happened, stating that the published content was illegally stolen by a third party on their systems. Although these facts are not going to change the roadmap of GTA VI, they declare from Rockstar. Then we leave you the original publication and the translation of the text.
A message from Rockstar Games
We recently experienced a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded sensitive information onto our systems, including early development footage of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services or any long-term effects on the development of our ongoing projects.
We are extremely disappointed that the details of our upcoming game are being shared with you all in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned and we remain more committed than ever to providing you, our players, with an experience that truly exceeds your expectations. We’ll report back to everyone soon and of course we’ll properly introduce you to this next game when it’s ready. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support in this situation.
