PC game stores are clearly dominated by Steam, a store launched in September 2003 by Valve Corporation. It is true that since then, a competitor has emerged, but he has never reached a similar volume of sales and users; which to this day continues to be outdated.
However, with the launch of the official Epic Games store and stores owned by different studios such as Ubisoft, they are slowly eating away a lot that many had tried so far unsuccessfully due to the heavy influx of Steam; which is no longer the case. Because of this, Valve needs to keep their store as up-to-date as possible and attractive to potential buyers, this clearly benefits us the players.
Steam more accessible and attractive every day
A few months ago the store was completely renovated by changing its interface, from shopping menus to the library; not to mention your downloads tab. In each of these sections, more information has been added to make searching much more enjoyable for the user, although a new version is coming now that further improves all of the above. The classic home tab with the best selling and recommended games and the different categories, now they will add a small trailer, description and score of the game; in addition to putting an image of it in the background. At the end of the day, it’s about providing an enjoyable experience.
It is not known when this version will reach the general public, but already it is in test in its beta version; it should therefore not take long to launch.
