SMITE kicks off Season 8 with a new evolving map and a host of other content.
Titan Forge Games has ushered in season 8 of SMITE with today’s major game update. The update is now available on all platforms. A new map for the main game mode, a Battle Pass, an event and several free skins are just a few examples of the numerous new content. Tutorials have been improved and new guides are more supportive than ever for the many new players in the # 1 console MOBA.
This video trailer introduces the Babylonian game event, which is now live, as well as the gods Tiamat and Gilgamesh, which will soon be playable:
The new map of Conquest, the popular game mode of SMITE, is live starting today and is featured in this video:
The goddess Tiamat not only banished Cthulhu to another plane of existence, but also rebuilt the universe according to her ideas. The conquest map was no exception, which is why its aesthetic is heavily influenced by Babylonian influences. The layout of the map has also changed significantly. It is now bigger and offers more strategic possibilities than before, including a new jungle camp with innovative game mechanics. Plus, this living map will go through other changes as SMITE progresses throughout the year.
In addition, players now have access to fifty new items in Conquest: The various starting items come with two completely different but equally powerful upgrades for the later phases of the game. Strategic planning is essential in order to get the most out of the new functions and to influence the balance of power on the battlefield.
Revised tutorials and role guides have been implemented as SMITE strives to offer new players the best possible conditions. In Conquest, beginners can now rely on tips, suggested items, and even waypoints to guide them to the lanes and destinations based on their role on the team.
Free skins for everyone
SMITE has made it a habit to give gifts to the community. For a good start into this new ranking and esports season, no fewer than three new skins can be unlocked completely free of charge just by playing.
Midgard monkey Hun Batz and crash test Janus are available as ranked rewards for seasons 7 and 8 respectively. Crashtest Janus is the first leaderboard reward available before the end of the season once players have won 75 games.
Last but not least, there is Pure Heart Ganesha as a Season 7 Recognition Reward. As such, this skin will be given to anyone who has proven themselves courteous enough on the battlefield, testament to Hi-Rez’s continued commitment to positive player behavior.
New battle pass, new event and new season pass
SMITE is also getting off to a flying start with cosmetic items, starting with the new “Most Wanted” battle pass, which depicts a glorious futuristic group of master thieves consisting only of goddesses.
Also available from today: The 2021 Season Pass, which players can use to secure all the gods of Season 8 and additional content when they are released. Also includes 1000 jewels, a new title and the limited Archmage Skin for community favorite Anubis.
Finally, Tiamat’s divine intervention marks the beginning of the Babylonian Dawn event. In the coming months, new skin packages will be available at an unbeatable price. The Collection Reward Skins are instantly playable for those players who choose to pre-order all event skins. You can find the patch notes here.
