We are already in 2021 and surprisingly, the pandemic is not yet gone. Without irony, it looks like we’re still having a good time in masks and being more at home than usual, which for most video game players isn’t as bad as it should be. . In this 2020 totally marked by the Coronavirus, we have had much more time available to release our constantly evolving catalog But this so-called “Digital Diogenes”, also called “Backlog”, was eventually attacked and reduced thanks to a series of unimaginable conditions: more time and less games.
Maybe you’ve spent more time on your usual Call of Duty, Warzone, Fortnite, Apex, Rocket League, etc. of those headlines you had on hold, those thorns stuck in your Backlog that continuous exits and compulsive buying in offers wouldn’t let you get started. It happened to me, it happened to my friends and even in the newsroom we were able to observe it. And the truth is, I feel a bit relieved and prepared for the future.
The backlog, this silent enemy that stalks us
In this strange 2020, I was able to catch up with the saga Far cry complete part five and New dawnI could start and end Borderlands 3, to burst Apex Legends with friends, replay Halo, pass me Control of Remedy and wonder why I didn’t release it in due time, a huge surprise like A Plague Tale: Innocence and not only that, I also had time to (finally) take my PS4 and finish great games like Uncharted 4, God of the war O Death Stranding. I had the time and the patience to start a title that did not appeal to me a priori like NieR PLCs, which has become one of the greatest video game works that I have ever enjoyed, an unforgettable experience. I was even able to open my Xbox One X to change the thermal paste and make it like new!
All this without even counting the titles released this year that I could also appreciate: My beloved Eternal doom, Deadly shell, WRC 9, Ori and the will of the wisps, Battletoads, Streets of Rage 4, Mortal Kombat 11, Crysis Remastered, Resident Evil 3, new COD And I’m still with the criticized but raised Cyberpunk 2077… The list is almost endless. But I was not the only one.
My friends and colleagues Adrian and Jose Angel, who are always full of work, also saw how they could benefit from titles that before they did not have time to come back, such as The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, to burst FIFA 21, review the saga resident Evil. The whole team has seen their time at home increase to open Twitch channels, complete old games, join the latest multiplayer or even – without anyone forcing them or anything – start playing League of Legends
Goodbye 2020
Maybe 2020 has been a fateful year in every way. We would all change what happened without hesitation, the losses suffered, the freedoms curtailed, but once that is over we have to look forward and keep all the good we have taken from him. We face 2021 with the illusion that the delayed titles will arrive, that finally our Backlog has been reduced instead of continuing to increase, that we must always bring the good from the bad and that … We already have the new Xbox Series X between us and the Master Chief with Halo Infinite is looking forward to.
Of course, a server and the entire Xbox Generation team will continue to be there to keep you informed and to share with you everything that happens in the future, which is no small amount. Now it’s up to you to tell us in the comments if you’ve also narrowed down this Backlog and which of those games you didn’t have the time you enjoyed the most in 2020.
